When To Repair vs When To Replace Your HVAC System

If your heating or cooling system is cycling on and off throughout the day, there might be an issue with a sensor within the system that turns the heat or air on at a certain temperature. There can also be a problem with the thermostat reading the indoor temperature of your home. This situation often calls for repairs, and our team can pinpoint and resolve the issue quickly.

It’s never a good thing if your heat pump or furnace isn’t pushing warm air throughout your home, as well as when the air conditioner doesn’t push cool air. If the air temperature coming from your HVAC system isn’t right, it could be due to a refrigerant problem in the A/C, or an issue with the heating component in your furnace or heat pump. With the proper repairs, everything should be working correctly in no time.

If you’ve noticed that your furnace or A/C is in constant need of repair, it might be time to replace the system entirely. Regular repair calls and replacement parts can end up costing you quite a bit, and it could be more economic to have a new HVAC system installed in your home.

Most residential HVAC systems have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. Once your heating or cooling system has reached or extended beyond this range, it’s usually a good idea to invest in a new system. While regular maintenance might keep the system running for a few more years, chances are you’re going to run into more serious heating and cooling issues down the road.
